The tender for manufacture of 44 semi-high speed Vande Bharat train sets was scrapped because three bidders had revealed the price in their technical bids and not because a Chinese company had bid for the project as a joint venture partner of an Indian firm. The fresh tender will be as per revised public procurement order, which specifies preference to Make in India, said Railway Board chairman VK Yadav.
