India and Russia on Tuesday discussed prospects for launching a peaceful settlement process based on an intra-Afghan dialogue. Both the nations agreed to coordinate the approaches of Russia and India in multilateral formats on the Afghan settlement. During the high-level meeting between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his Russian counterpart Nikolai Patrushev in New Delhi, both sides emphasized the need to prevent escalation of violence in Afghanistan.
