Retail inflation based on consumer price index (CPI) for the month of September eased to 4.35 per cent as against 5.3 per cent recorded in August, data released by government showed on Tuesday. The moderation in inflation figure is mainly on account of moderating food prices that offset a surge in the cost of crude oil and fuel.
